Welcome to my website

What began as a hobby quickly developed into a passion and I have now been sculpting for over ten years.
All my pieces featured here are made from aerated concrete breeze blocks, the majority of which are from reclaimed sources.

I carve each piece by hand using traditional tools.  I do not work to any template. So all the pieces I create, including the heads and figures have their own uniqueness and individuality.

My influences and styles are constantly developing.  I enjoy creating pieces that have a pleasing presence and capture a sentiment. I like my work to have movement, to explore the contrast between curves and straight edges. The finished piece is deliberately tactile in nature, inviting the viewer closer to feel the smoothness of the material.

I sell my work through selected retail outlets, private sales and commissions, my work is also available through various shows and exhibitions I attend during the course of the year.

my writing

As a child I was deeply moved by the beautiful poems that were born out of the horror of the first world war. This opened the world of poetry to me which has been a passion of mine ever since.
The other poets that have captured my attention are Spike Milligan, Allen Ginsberg, William Blake, Percy Shelley, Roger Mcgough and Gregory Corso.
I have had many poems published in collections and magazines and I like to write about the human experience within the world. To capture moments in life and mirror them back through my own perspective.
Please view my poetry page to see some examples of my work.
