I'm a big science and space nut, I love space sciences and astronomy. I'm a huge huge fan of The Prisoner, Spaced, Sherlock, Deadwood, Penn & Teller, Derren Brown, Bill Hicks and great sci-fi such as Blakes 7. Apart from those movies that all men share a genetic love of such as pulp fiction, fight club and taxi driver favourite movies include Sunshine, Tombstone (best thing val kilmer ever did!), Chasing Amy, anything by the genius Shane Meadows, Hot Fuzz and although plot-thin I loved the visual style of Tron Legacy. Musically it's also quite diverse: I love Ugly Duckling, The Roots, Daft Punk, Queen, The Charlatans, Breakestra, Chemical Brothers, ZZTop, The Bamboos and the legend that is John Williams and pretty much anything else thats not watered down x-factor crap.
I have a huge love of science and a huge distaste of religion. Don't get me wrong I love free speech and firmly believe that everyone should have the basic human right to their own individual beliefs. My tolerance runs dry however when organised religion demands special treatment, tax breaks, public funding and to teach their own set of 'truth' to other peoples children. On that note, I love the works of
Christopher Hitchens "what can be asserted without proof can be dismissed without proof"
Penn Jillette "There is great joy in helping people, but no joy in doing it at gunpoint."
Richard Dawkins "One of the things that is wrong with religion is that it teaches us to be satisfied with answers which are not really answers at all. "
Sam Harris "We have a choice. We have two options as human beings. We have a choice between conversation and war. That's it. Conversation and violence. And faith is a conversation stopper."
