Farewell, Old Friends

This section is devoted to pupils from Swanage Grammar School who sadly are no longer with us.

Ian Lever

Good afternoon friends. One of the privileges of sharing with each other on this site is that it gives us an opportunity to keep in touch. Sometimes the news is of achievements, of adventures both at home and abroad. And so we share the joys and the sorrows of life together, and somehow it knits us closely, in a bond of deep friendship that has lasted through many years.

Today this is a message of deep sadness as I share with you the news that Ian Lever, year of 1965-1972, has passed peacefully away at home in Swanage, after a long illness that he never allowed to define him, just simply got on with it, without a grumble.

He was married to Sarah and had three children and six grandchildren. He built his own house in New Swanage. His sister Chris Widdowson wanted this to be known in a gentle way, so that his school friends from the past would know.

I am sure that it would be in order to send a private message to Chris Widdowson, and if and when there is more news to share, she will pass it on. RIP Ian Lever.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family right now
